Problem Statement

A wide-flange beam supports two loads F = 12 kN as shown. If L = 2 m and the allowable stress is σ = 250 MPa, what is the lightest W-beam in Appendix A that could be used for the beam?

A wide flange beam of length 3L supports two loads of F. The first load occurs at L and the second load occurs at 2L. The beam is pinned at A and B.
